Welcome To Little Owls - Where learning and exploration begins in our wonderful 2-3 year old setting that is situated in the school conservatory!

Mrs Claire Crook, Miss Hill and Miss Ollerton would like to welcome all our new children to Little Owls. We are all looking forward to helping your children with their learning and development over the next term.

We plan weekly following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Development matters guidance. Our topics and themes are based around your child's interests and develop through the year. If you would like to see a guide to the Development Matters please click on the link. There are 7 areas of learning , please have a look at the link below!  Any questions please ask!

Now the summer months are upon us please provide your child with a water bottle, named suncream, a change of clothes and a hat. We will be spending plenty of time outside exploring a wide range of activities.

We also do PE sessions with the children!  Please provide shorts and t - shirt for our sessions.  A mixture of activities both indoor and outdoors weather permitting. Children of this age are walking and running, kicking, and throwing. They're naturally active, but to be sure we will provide lots of chances for your child to practice and build on these skills. P.E from September will be on a Wednesday morning with our trained sports coaches!

Our "All about me too" books are also for you to help us see what your child is up to outside of school.

Please feel free to bring these in at any time so they can share special events or stories from home.Image result for hungry caterpillar

This half term our topic is "Mini Beasts and The Hungry Caterpillar". We are going to be outside finding lots of insects and worms, and looking at them up close! We will be creating lots of display work looking at the beautiful story and re telling it with puppets. The children will be able to explore our investigation hut and eat the the Bug Cafe! Keep your eyes out for lots of messy play too!

Outside in the garden area we have planted some herbs, sunflowers and flowers for the children to explore!
