Inter-School XC Competition 9.10.14

We were so proud to see so many of our KS2 children competing strongly in the first Sainsbury's School Games XC competition of this year. It was lovely to see everyone cheering each other on and running with big smiles on their faces. Although the children were tired, they were all very proud of themselves.

Year 3/4 inter-house tennis competition - 14.10.14

All the children enjoyed using their newly developed skills to work as a team to score points for rallies. Further points were awarded for controlled forehands and backhands. The victorious team was BLUE TEAM - well done boys!

Sainsbury's School Games Inter-school Hockey Competition - Yr 5/6

Following a course of lessons developing hockey skills, 8 children from yr 5/6 played in a tournament at Crewe Vagrants Hockey Club. Despite the atrocious weather towards the end, it was a great experience to play with proper hockey sticks and balls on the astroturf pitches. Games were fast and furious and the children made huge progress in their skills throughout the evening. Their positive attitude and good sportsmanship was commendable - I was very proud of them all. We have some super hockey players at our school. I wonder if any will join the club.

IF YOU ENJOY PLAYING HOCKEY, WHY NOT JOIN CREWE VAGRANTS?

Sainsbury's School Games Year 3/4 football tournament

This event was run by MMU/Leighton Academy and this is the first time we have entered. Having just completed 6 weeks of coaching with FA coach Laura Woodcock, it was the perfect opportunity to test out our skills. Joining with Bridgemere School, we played matches against Berkeley, LeightonA, Wynbunbury, Hungerford and finally LeightonB who we beat 1-0 in the Plate trophy match. It was a tense golden goal situation which fell in our favour. Our trophy will be proudly displayed at school. The two schools integrated seamlessly. Well done boys!

Yr 5/6 Inter-House Sportshall Competition - 25.11.15

All of KS2 thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a carousel of field events and a programme of track events which challenged their running, jumping, throwing and agility skills. The scores of every child contributed to the team score. It was incredibly close between blue and red team (less than a point) but BLUE team were the School Sportshall champions!

Inter-school KS2 SPORTSHALL Competition - 1.12.15

A team of 16 of our talented athletes joined athletes from Bridgemere Primary to form an amazing athletic team which had outstanding performances in many disciplines, especially the field events. We nearly lost our voices cheering each other on!! It was very close and we came a respectable 3rd out of 5 teams.

WELL DONE EVERYONE!!

IF YOU ENJOY SPORTSHALL WHY NOT CONTACT CREWE AND NANTWICH ATHLETICS CLUB WHO COMPETE IN A SPORTSHALL LEAGUE THROUGH THE WINTER?

Inter-house Cross Country - 3.2.15

Everyone competed in their classes to score points for their team. The mean score for each team was then calculated and our Cross Country Champions are RED team!! In particular, well done to Farah, Oliver, Sebastian and Freya (foundation), Rhys and Maisy (KS1), Cerys (yr3) and Elliott and Melody (UKS2) for their excellent performances.

Gymnastics Competition 19.3.15

Following gymnastics lessons in which children learnt floor routines, 5 children from each class competed against 8 schools in a competition at Camm Street Gym Club. All children performed superbly, AND THE YEAR 5/6 TEAM WERE THE WINNERS!!! See the trophy in our school hall. The other teams came a very credible 4th. Particular congratulations to Jessica Higginbotham, Katie Murrell, Imogen Bond and Sienna Palin who all gained very high individual scores.
