Roles and Responsibilities

• The LGC monitor the school's compliance with equality legislation and support the strategic development of equality objectives.
• The Principal and Senior Leadership Team lead the implementation of our equality commitments and regularly review their impact.
• The Staff promote equality and inclusion through teaching, learning and positive relationships with pupils and families.
• The pupils are encouraged to demonstrate respect, kindness and understanding towards others, valuing the diversity within our community.

Curriculum and Teaching

Our curriculum aims to prepare children for life in modern Britain and the wider world. We achieve this by:

• Reflecting a range of cultures, experiences and perspectives across the curriculum.
• Using resources that promote positive representation and challenge stereotypes.
• Providing opportunities to explore themes of diversity, equality, respect and inclusion.
• Encouraging children to develop empathy, understanding and respect for others.

Preventing and Responding to Discrimination

At St Oswald's Worleston CE Primary School, any form of discriminatory behaviour, including racist incidents, bullying or harassment, is taken seriously. We will:

• Investigate and respond promptly to any concerns.
• Encourage pupils, staff and parents to report incidents or worries.
• Provide appropriate support to those affected.
• Work proactively to educate and promote understanding within our school community.
