School Council

Our School Council consists of an elected member from every year group in school from Nursery to Year 6. We are all attached to one of our four House Groups. We chose our house group names based on our favourite authors, Dickens, Shakespeare, Murpurgo and Dahl. Our Head Boy and Head Girl lead two Houses and our UKS2 representatives lead a further two. At the end of each term the House Group with the most House points choose a treat so we all work hard to earn points! School Council Members also award points at our weekly Celebration Assembly to anyone (not in their House) who has shown exemplary behaviour during the week.

We meet regularly with Mrs McDonough, important visitors and other members of staff and make important decisions about how we want our school to be. For example, we decided what our logo and school out motto should be, we chose to change our lunchtimes so that we have a 'cafe experience' and decided what we wanted on our menu, we also made choices about the clubs we want in school and chose our school prayer.

Our School Council members run a playtime choir, lunch time clubs and competitions. We also chose three charities to raise money for, one local (St Luke's Hospice), one national (RSPCA) and one international (Mary's Meals). We have raised money for our charities through cake sales, sponsored events and competitions. We also lead assemblies.

Our School Council members are key role models and support the four House Captains during numerous events and also act as Buddies to new children or anyone needing a friend. We help at lunchtime as Mini-Midday Assistants too.

We like to show visitors around and tell them all about our wonderful school! If you would like to know more about our roles and achievements contact our Head Boy or Head Girl via admin@stoswald-worl.cheshire.sch.uk.
